Gathering of Eagles – Nambé Falls, New Mexico
Location:
- The Gathering of Eagles will be held at the Nambé Water Falls, Santa Fe, New Mexico from July 24 through July 30, 2011.
- Sunday, July 24 through Tuesday, July 26 – Set up of camp, arbor, sweat lodge, etc.
- Wednesday, July 27 – Lighting of sacred fire at sunrise and continuing through Saturday, July 30.
- Conclusion approximately 12 noon on July 30. This will allow the rest of Saturday and Sunday to say our goodbyes.
- If you have a dance group, please bring them to share with all.
Directions: From Albuquerque, 1-25 to Santa Fe (exit 282) to 84/285. You will automatically be on St. Francis Drive. St. Francis Drive will turn into 84/285 North, approximately 20 miles to Pojoaque. In Pojoaque, turn right at the 3rd stop light (503 East). Follow the signs. Drive approximately 3.1 miles to NP 101. Turn right. It will be 6 miles to Nambé Water Falls and the Gathering area.
From Raton/Las Vegas on I-25, turn right (on exit 282-B) to St. Francis Drive (84/285) and follow the above directions.
International Airport Albuquerque – It is approximately 95 miles from the Airport to Nambé Falls. We will try to set up rides from Albuquerque to the Gathering site. Please let us know your arrival date, time and your flight number. Contact information is shown at the bottom of the page.
Camping / Lodging:
Camping will be at Nambé Falls next to the stream, for all who like to camp out.

Food, Supplies and Other Details:
Each day one (1) meal will be collectively prepared and offered to the entire Gathering at mid–afternoon. Food donations are encouraged; you will also need to bring additional food for your family’s breakfast, dinner and snacks.
The nearest grocery store is in Pojoaque Plaza where you can get all your food supplies and propane gas.
There are 5 restaurants in the Pojoaque area.
Be sure to bring modest clothing appropriate for ceremonies and be prepared for all kinds of weather. It may be hot in the day time, is often windy, and it can be cold and/or rainy.
No alcohol, marijuana or other drugs will be allowed.
Showers will be available 6 miles from the Gathering site.
Additional Information:
The Gathering is an exercise in community living and needs everyone’s participation in order to handle the meal preparation, clean up, fire tending, assisting the elders, youth activities and security. Please come prepared to sign up for at least a couple of hours in helping in the areas of your choice each day.
All those attending and taking part in the Gathering will have to have a permit to get in and out of the Gathering area. Permits can be obtained at the Ranger Station or the Tribal Offices.

- Sturdy shoes/ good walking shoes/ river shoes (to walk to the base of the water fall)
- Folding chairs (for sitting in the arbor and your campsite)
- Sunscreen / bug repellent

- Bowls
No dogs or other animals will be allowed in the arbor area.
